From everything I have read, did this bill get lost on someone's desk? It sure seems like it. Nothing has been done.

"Not 1 dime of the Stimilus package was spent on the Small Buisnesses in this Country to created JOBS"

Fact check: http://sbdcrn.blogspot.com/2009/03/small-businesses-and-arra.html

You can blame the banks for that one. Small business loans were opened up but the greedy banks wouldn't cooperate.

As far as stimulus bashing goes, I've objected to a number of things in that package, but everyone has to remember that without the stimulus package we would all be 20 weeks further behind in our bills!

I spoke to a House aide about H.R. 3404 and he said that it's likely they will be looking at the bill within a few days after labor day. He felt passage was 'likely', but cautioned that nothing is for sure until it's done. He said some will object that Congress is creating a 'permanent' social program by extending benefits yet again, while others will object to the extension due to the cost. Although he agreed that it 'usually' is the case that if you are already qualified for a previous extension you would automatically qualify for a new one, he could not say for sure whether some new 'cutoff' date (date by which you had to have filed your original claim to qualify) would not be tacked on. Nothing is set in stone, in other words. And yes, he said contacting people now, so they start gearing up to deal with the issue, is a very good idea. If you haven't contacted your legislators, please do so. Also, don't forget to google the search terms discussed previously (several times).
