I do not support this bill. Just like anyone else, they should have to apply for citizenship. Illegal immigration is running ramped and costing taxpayers dearly. This bill will only invite more illegal aliens to our country.

Straw man argument. Exercise3 is speaking about a specific group of people (note that they specifically said "students"), not all illegal immigrants.

Are your options presented the only 2 options available? No. Deportation is the best option. It is naive to think lawbreakers on the public dole will suddenly become responsible tax-payers.

"Where does it end?" Slippery slope fallacy, as you've not given a reason why one would result from the other.

It's very common for people who have committed crimes to be given leniency if there are mitigating circumstances. I think the fact that they had no choice in the matter and consider this country their home constitutes some.

The only ones that have followed the rules are the native American. Everyone, and yes that means a lot of you reading this had a family member, parent that had a path way or has been born here. And that's why they are now called Americans. Now a lot have forgotten that and are being heartless and saying what they say. Be what it will be on the dream act, but a lot of people need to find a heart.

Well, one big difference here is the taxpayers are forced to pay for it. The politicians are never satisfied until they heap on things like free this or free that and reduced costs here all paid by our tax dollars.

It always ends up to being preferential treatment to illegals and Americans getting pushed aside - oh and yes Americans paying for it.

That is kind of funny - the democrats really only see them as voters. If we could somehow convince everyone that illegals would ultimately vote republican, the borders would be sealed, all illegals would be deported, and the entitlements to them would be cut off in record time.

Our nation's history has been a continual struggle between nativist and immigrant (several movies, such as "Gangs of New York", have attempted to dramaticize the struggle). The nativists love to portray themselves as the patriotic side. They're not any more patriotic than other Americans, just more fearful.

Then let's change the laws. That's what this is all about, isn't it? --changing the existing laws and making new laws? Our current laws are antiquated. Let's allow more immigrants into this country legally. Our country is in need of risk-takers who think smart and dream big. Support the DREAM Act.
