Further more increasing your education does not work either. We need to stay consistent and write those in power to change things(Congress men and woman)&gt; Write your local papers and tell them to stop making things look so perfect in this world. People(unemployed)are and will be homeless double dipping the crime wave to increase for those that are just trying to survive. And tho this may seem funny to those in congress to take there sweet time in responding to those of whom voted them into office many Americans wonder were their next meal is coming from. Were there next home maybe. How will they be able to tell their children that they must quit school and live on the streets because they cant afford it. </content>

Claims: Where Are The Apologists Now?

The Survey Says!

&#8220;In the week ending Jan. 8, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 445,000, an increase of 35,000 from the previous week's revised figure of 410,000. The 4-week moving average was 416,500, an increase of 5,500 from the previous week's revised average of 411,000.&#8221;

It's worse....

&#8220;The advance number of actual initial claims under state programs, unadjusted, totaled 770,413 in the week ending Jan. 8, an increase of 191,686 from the previous week. There were 815,593 initial claims in the comparable week in 2010.&#8221;

770,000?! Holy crap.

Now here's reality folks - I said last week that I didn't believe the &quot;3 handle&quot; folks nor that the problem was over, and that seasonal distortions and idiocy in the labor department was responsible. Of course &quot;idiocy&quot; implies unknowing distortion, which is a damn hard argument to make when the &quot;errors&quot; are all in one direction - and they both are and have been. </content>

and growing everyday. We need to get HR 6556 back on the floor before any other business is done. Rock groups can get up on stage and raise funds for people all over the world but not one response from them when it comes to the unemployed? When we do not take care of our own first it tilts the voting poll one direction. I say we need to DEMAND this BIll be Herd before any other business be done.It has to be brought back up. Here's a thought,Lets ask Congress to tell a child they can get the basic necessities of life because they do not care. I gave a young family $50 dollars so they could enjoy Christmas. I could afford to give away $50 dollars but did it because I understand the problem of our Government. </content>

that should of been I could not afford to give away $50 dollars. Regardless I was not about to see children starving on Christmas day. Tho I wish I had billions more to those that did starve including friends of mine. We use to take in one homeless family on thanksgiving and Christmas day. In a few days I hope someone will return the favor as that is the direction I will be going soon. I'm not asking for pity, I want everyone to keep pushing HR 6556. Who knows maybe turning to drugs is a great alternative at least the hurt will lesson. Purely Sad and upset. </content>

Hiding A Depression: How The US Government Does It

The real US unemployment rate is not 9.8% but between 25% and 30%. That is a depression level of job losses - so why doesn't it look like a depression for many people? How can so large of a statistical discrepancy exist, and how is it that holiday shopping malls are so crowded in a depression?

The true devastation is hidden by essentially placing the job losses inside three different &quot;boxes&quot;: the official unemployment box, the true full unemployment box, and most importantly, the staggering and persistent private sector job loss box that has been temporarily covered over by a fantastic level of governmental deficit spending. The &quot;recovering and out of the recession&quot; cover story is only plausible when nobody connects the dots and adds all the boxes together. </content>

Hoping for light at the end of the tunnel

Ron Hanson of Bozeman lost his job more than 18 months ago. Recently, he has begun to fall behind on bills and credit card payments.

&quot;I have worked all my life and now I might end up homeless, too,&quot; he said after reading about community efforts to set up an overnight shelter for homeless people in Bozeman.

&quot;People are losing their homes and cannot file bankruptcy because we do not have the money,&quot; he said. &quot;Things will get better, but right now none of us can sleep at night. We need some protection and all of us (have) to start over again. If any of us found a job, it would take five years just to see light on the end of that tunnel.&quot;

Six in 10 unemployed Americans have been job-hunting for more than a year, according to a survey released this month by Rutgers University that also found &quot;dramatic erosion in the quality of life for millions of Americans.&quot;

&quot;Their financial reserves are exhausted, their job prospects nil, their family relations stressed, and their belief in government's ability to help them is negligible,&quot; according to the survey. &quot;They feel hopeless.&quot;

It is a desperate situation. Most of the unemployed face a condition not of their own making and &quot;have exhausted all ideas of what to do next to get work and take care of their families,&quot; said Carl Van Horn, director of the Heldrich Center at Rutgers and a co-author of the study.

&quot;There's a lot of pain out there, and a lot of folks who are at their wits' end,&quot; Heldrich Center fellow Cliff Zukin told the New York Post in October.

How about intentional lies instead?

In any event this ought to take some hot air out of people's BS-running lungs.

The other not-good thing is that the ranks of those going back into the extended programs was up for the week of the 25th too - by 195,000.

This is unambiguously bad - extended benefits AND initial benefits both up materially, and note that this was a week during which people said that the claims numbers were generally &quot;good&quot;.

Nope.

Wake up folks - the supposed &quot;economic expansion&quot; is complete crap and is all government blowing money they don't have.

The end of that rope is approaching.

Fast.

And the floor of the canyon we're rappelling down is 500' below us.

We'll let me introduce myself - I'm a 99er in Michigan. First there was Stabenow, now Lee with bills that are supposed to help us. How long has this been going on - well for a while now. I really dont think they(congress) are going to take any more steps towards helping us. You see the fight is diminishing, less people are talking about this, and that is exactly what they want. Introduce, then do nothing. Three used to be alot of people on You Tube stating their case, now its all old posts. They want us to give up!!

Presto! 9.4% Unemployment! How The Government Lies.

Hooray&#8230;Happy days are here again!

That is exactly what the elite would have us believe with the 9.4% unemployment number in this huge CONfidence game otherwise known as the USEconomy.

&#8220;During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act&#8221; -George Orwell

We were having dinner at my in-law&#8217;s house and I had overheard the TV playing in the back ground. At one point, I thought I had heard the squealing of teenagers who were fawning over Justin Beiber. Instead, it turned out that it was someone on the news reporting the new, much lower 9.4% unemployment rate. I could hear the panting of excitement spoken by the breathless reporters who were interviewing very serious economists about this new 9.4% rate. The news aired their personal interest piece about a girl who was just hired at an internet company. She commented with the utmost confidence that the economy was getting better!!

The latest U.S. Labor Department data indicated that non-farm payroll added 103,000 jobs in December, which is far short of expectation, but the unemployment rate somehow managed to fall sharply to 9.4% (from 9.8% in November) far exceeding expectation.

103k Jobs Not Enough To Drop Unemployment Rate

The current consensus is that the U.S. economy would need to create 150,000 to 175,000 new jobs each month in the next 5 years or so, at minimum, just to restore the 8+ million jobs wiped out by the Great Recession.

Since the nation added only 1.1 million jobs in total last year, or averaging 94,000 jobs a month, the 103,000 new jobs added, coupled with a 0.4% drop in unemployment rate in December, simply does not make much sense.

Nevertheless, a closer look at data the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) tells that the drop in unemployment had very little to do with newly created jobs. Instead, it was primarily due to 260,000 workers dropping out of the labor force.

There were 3.2 million job openings on the last business day of
November, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today.

There are far more 99ers than that, and that number includes all temp and part time minimum wage jobs.

The real number of unemployed is well over 20 million. </content>
