If the government shuts down for 1 month, approximately $58.304 BILLION dollars will not be paid out to SSA/SSI beneficiaries. Democracy doesn't work! And I think we, the people, can do what needs to be done if we have to, so I'm not sure which government services you're referring to that can't be done by us, or the states, if the federal government weren't there to do it for us.
