    • On June 29, 2010, by illwill2dotoh - There are MILLIONS unemployed, about 10-15 million overall. "Without an extension, about 1.7 million people will lose benefits by July 3, and the legislation would have retroactively restored benefits to recipients, some of whom started losing benefits at the end of May, according to Democratic lawmakers who introduced the bill." -marketwatch.com So basically there is about 1.2-1.5 million people that have gone through their regular 26 weeks of unemployment so far. That means 1.5 million people will loose their houses, cars, become delinquent on cc bills. That will go without food, electricity and gas. We cannot borrow to give our own citizens that lost their job through NO fault of their own. We can give money to Haiti, a pointless war in Afghanistan, a Dem member of the house just stated on cspan that we spent 350 billion on the war in Afghanistan alone. So the bill to extend benefits is just 10% of that total, but we can't do that because we can't borrow anymore money.

    • On June 29, 2010, by Tres0607 - This has been passed by the House before - now it's even better because it's alone - no brainer - get it passed ASAP, get it over to the Senate today and get this passed there - before tomorrow - it shouldn't even be something to sit on or think about. Just DO IT please! The longer it takes, the more everyone will feel the effects of this sitting out there and hanging over your heads. Practice, "aye", and one more loud one for all of your poor constituants you're causing needless suffering to, "AYE"! Thank you!

    • On July 15, 2010, by NoWork - I too was laid off in October of 2008! I have applied for 100's of jobs and have received but ONE phone, screened interview. I was asked about the employment gap on my resume. I provided a true answer and was told they were concerned about the gap. Total BS!!! I have taken exam after exam for "new" county and city jobs. Seems like no one in HR is opening up emails. I am currently in the middle of the hiring process with the TSA. I have another exam with the Orange County Sheriff's Corrections Division this weekend. I hope something comes soon! Why are we such a burden?Illegals and true lazy asses are leeching off the welfare system! Makes no sense! I am an Amexican who now strongly supports the deportation of illegals. Including those making $50,000 while incarcerated. We need to do WHATEVER it takes! Revolution is NOW! NO "peaceful" demonstrations! Violence if necessary! Especially on these corrupt, fake christian politicians!!! Question is, how do we organize?
