    • On March 18, 2009, by Razrback11 - This doesn't hail Obama as the best president since Lincoln. It does, however, show how far this country has come since the presidency of Lincoln. You should be more worried about the lies that are contained in this resolution. For such a holy bill, there are a few holes in the truth. It say every president has laid their hand on the bible during their oath. That is a lie. John Quincy Adams laid his hand on a book of laws, while Theodore Roosevelt also left the bible out of his oath. Also, this resolution says that every president has added "so help me god" to the end of the oath. This too is a blatant lie. It's just odd, that our great founders just happened to forget "so help me god" in Article 2.

    • On March 29, 2009, by vincent - LBJ also did not put his hand on a Bible. I oppose any bill whose drafters feel they have to lie to the American people to get the bill passed. As to the "so help me god" line, also a lie. And it's a lie people have relied upon in legal arguments which makes it far worse to attempt to commemorate it in the Congressional Record.
