OpenCongress Bill Summary
-
H.J.Res. 5 is a Constitutional amendment to remove the limit on the number of terms one may serve as President. It effectively would repeal the 22nd Amendment. Over the past six congressional sessions, several members of Congress have introduced similar legislation, including Sen. Harry Reid in 1989 ( S.J.Res. 36). As is likely the case in the 111th Congress, the resolutions have never proceeded out of committee. This is a fringe bill that has virtually no chance of becoming law. For more background on why there are bills in Congress like this one that are essentially dead on arrival, see this blog post.

I agree, this shouldn't be an amendment, there should be an amendment to limit the amount of term for all federal officials.

RIGHT ON! All government 'officials' are acting as if they are royalty and we are too stupid to be citizens--we are the serfs of their kingdom.
