    • On July 06, 2009, by jreitz - Although I agree we need to do something about the pollution being put out into our air, water, and land, this bill will do nothing to accomplish this. At best it might create some jobs in the alternative energy sector but how many jobs will it eliminate from other sectors. If one really studies this workings of the bill it can be seen that if the bill actually were to reduce pollution it would self destruct. Therefore it must have some kind of built in structure to keep it going. That structure would be that the companies having to buy the vouchers will always have to buy them and never have the money to replace or upgrade the current equipment. Without these upgrades the pollutions levels will never decrease and the ever increasing costs of penalties and purchase of vouchers must be passed onto the consumers and industry.
