How about instead of designating it as "sick" leave, employers mandated 2 weeks (10 days) of "paid" time off or leave after 1 year of service. Pro-rate for part-timers. Employee can choose how they want to use their time. Employers won't have to reduce current employee vacation time to offset mandated sick leave.
