This bill has a provision in it that would grant enemies who are convicted by miitary commissions greater access to our nation's highest military court -- Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces -- than that of our own U.S. troops who are convicted by courts-martial. I've written about this fact on Equal Justice for Troosp blog: http://justice4troops.blogspot.com/2009/07/should-congress-grant-enemy-combatants.html
If this bill passes Congress and is enacted as law enemies of America will have greater procedural due process rights than that of our own American servicemembers.

I just read that the Hate Crime Bill (S 909) was added to this as an amendment. How on earth do these people stay in office! This is how they got the first Real ID passed. They attached it to an appropriations bill. I am at a loss to understand what is going through these people's heads!

If the Hate Crimes remained, then this becomes a bad bill. A bill to support our military should remain unpolluted by additions that have no bearing on the support for those keeping us free.
