I commend the spirit of this bill, but I'm doubtful of its intended effect and it's result. Discrimination is a social issue and this bill partially solves it economically, which sounds like the wrong tool for the fix. The adjustment of the paycheck will be paid for by the taxpayers and any adjustment to equalize pay for "fairness", will breed contempt which will increase* discrimination, not lessen it.
I agree with the effort to help educate women and girls about the workplace and how to best navigate it. And there isn't a need to draw comparisons and point fingers. There's no need to divide the sexes more than it already is. These kinds of programs should be left to the local communities and states. Not at the federal level.
Instead of giving money to equalize pay, don't take away so much. Adjust the income tax to equalize the pay. This way there aren't more taxes and the people can get a break.
