I would like to continue having the right to buy herbs that boost my immune function, lesson the severity of pain without pain killers, and increase my health and longevity. I avoid prescription drugs if at all possible, and I think it's my right to choose alternative, natural, herbal health over another drug from another drug company. This bill effects friends who use naturally desiccated thyroid medicines as well, and they deserve to have their choice of health care.

In 2008, there were NO DEATHS caused by a dietary
supplement, according to the most recent information collected by the
U.S. National Poison Data System. The new 174-page annual report of the
American Association of Poison Control Centers, published in the journal Clinical Toxicology reports that not a man, woman, or child died from the use of vitamins, minerals, herbs, melatonin, Ayurvedic preparations, or Chinese formulas.
Compare that to the safety of Big Pharma. As the late Robert S. Mendelsohn, MD said, many doctor's decision making philosohy is corrupted from "First do no harm" to "First DO SOMETHING!" Drugs often provide that action in remedies that produce in side effects the symptoms they are supposed to cure.

Have you any idea the amount of people that die due to the side effects of chemicals that are processed in medications? Diet Pills are NOT supplements and should not be categorized with natural organic nutrients essential for the well being of the human body.
