• On July 02, 2011, by RetiredPublicSafetydotCom - I am opposed to any law that mandates E-Verify. This program is unconstitutional since under Article 1 Section 8 Congress cannot regulate private employment. There are a number of better ways to rid us of illegal workers. It must be a state-level crime to be here illegally, and a process implemented for reporting, investigating, and deporting those that are working here illegally. This must be done with cause, otherwise we are making ourselves guilty until proven innocent yet again just like we've done with the federal driver license law REAL ID. That was another unconstitutional measure designed to rid us of illegal aliens that has cost millions here in Florida and not resulted in one illegal alien being identified. This program is unconstitutional since under Article 1 Section 8 Congress cannot regulate private employment. There are a number of better ways to rid us of illegal workers. It must be a state-level crime to be here illegally, and a process implemented for reporting, investigating, and deporting those that are working here illegally. This must be done with cause, otherwise we are making ourselves guilty until proven innocent yet again just like we've done with the federal driver license law REAL ID. That was another unconstitutional measure designed to rid us of illegal aliens that has cost millions here in Florida and not resulted in one illegal alien being identified.
