I'm not saying African Americans don't have valid gripes about their treatment from certain employers, and I'm not saying African Americans don't experience some sort of racism (like almost all other groups do: women, men, chinese, hispanic, latino, gay, straight, etc...because we've all been discriminated against at some point whether we know it or not), but can we really blame slavery for how people live their lives now?

Slavery ended in 1865, it's been over 145 years. It's difficult for me to understand that a belief of repression has not been all but diluted into an unfortunate "normally" sized demographic of people that were pre-disposed racists. As for the speak of compensation....I'm fairly certain that if you were alive and enslaved during that time in history and you became aware that a descendant of yours , 5 generations in the future, was attempting to be compensated off of the scars on your back and the years of oppressive slavery....my assumption would be saying you'd be disappointed would be putting it rather lightly. As it doesn't explain what form of compensation is to be awarded, I dont imagine any should be warranted to anyone but to those which were enslaved.
