I am a BSA Life Scout of Troop 562 currently working on an Eagle Scout Project
for the Chickahominy Indians Eastern Division(CIED) of New Kent. The project
involves the installation of a flag pole which will fly both the American flag
and the CIED flag inside a circular stone garden with two benches, stepping
stones, and a large monument stone with a bronze plaque inscription in front of
their tribal center in Providence Forge. I have learned while working on my project that Virginia Tribes are not Federally recognized. I am supporting this Bill and S.379 so they can obtain Federal Recognition. I would really like to be able to put on their plaque that the CIED was Federally recognized in 2011 by the 112th Congress.
Sincerely,
Benjamin Jumper
