Richard Lugar's crop commodity reform bill, the FRESH Act, which is cosponsored by Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ), was rejected on Wednesday as an amendment to the Farm Bill. It's too bad that Indiana's elected officials don't answer letters that are written to them. I guess once they hit the beltway, they don't care any more.
Wouldn't you think that Barack could get back to work in the Senate and do SOMETHING concrete for this country?????
He's being paid for this job and doing nothing.
Why can't he pass Kennedy's bill 2544 (which he cosponsored)?
If he can't get things done in the Senate, don't EVEN make promises for when it's too late!!!!!!!!!!!
Give up a photo op, Barack, and get some work done in the Senate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been out of work since November 2007. My unemployment benefits have run out. My money has run out. I unable to obtain employment and need more time to continue my search for employment. I am at risk of losing my car. Gas prices continue to rise daily. I am highly skilled in my field. My State Rhode Island is one of the hardest hit with unemployment. I am 53 old and have worked hard all my life. I've paid taxes all my life, and this is how my country is treating me. Unbelievable. The Senate, House and President continue to play games as peoples life's are put in jeopardy. Totally disgusting. So all the extra time that I am not spending on looking for employment, I will dedicate to making sure any politician that votes nay on not extending unemployment insurance will be out of a job their next term by informing the public of their decision in every forum available. I will encourage others to do so as well. It is time in this country for the people to take control of their government again and take it out of the hands of the uninformed, out of touch, uncompassionate, ignorant, greedy, self absorbed fools that are the true terrorists ruining this country. Pass a fxxkxxg bill extending unemployment benefits or you will be out of a fxxkxxg job!!!!!!!!!
Stop stalling on HR5749 and pass that bill this week! Indiana needs it after the floods. We can't wait anymore for this emergency legislation both houses have argued about since January! Put politics aside and pass the bill this week.
Indiana is hurting after the floods. Pass HR5749 we need some relief quickly.
Senator Lugar, This is a request asking you to please push this War Funding Supplement, New GI Bill, Disaster Relief Funds ans Unemployment Extensions through the Senate. We all know you have strong Leadership in the Senate and with your great influence allot of people's lives will be in much better shape. We the People are asking to have the Senate pass this Legislation exactly the way Congress and the White House drafted the Bill. Please do not put any more additions to it. Just leave the Language as is and send it through the Senate and on to the President for his signature. Thank You for your time and consideration.
Sincerely and Respectfully,
dantk
Shame, shame, shame! I can't believe you voted against HR6331. Why? HR6331 bill contents is what got me back to walking good with only a cane because I had a granuloma on the spine it had damaged many nerves and muscles. I had continue my therapy through the outpatient pt but they told me that had done all that they could do. I went to a private therapist who put together a awesome program for me. I just not walking but I have coordination, better stability, balance. If I had of stop my therapy eight months ago I would have still needed assistance at home with day to day activies.
BUSH wants to bail out Wall street but the unemployed can just wait and starve!
The Congress, the Senate and BUSH are criminal, despicable, naive, and in very dangerous water. To ignore the unemployed and not take care of them is so shortsighted its beyond belief. More Extended benefits need to be passed now! The seven weeks is really a joke as unemployment WILL continue to rise and rise. It needs to be a total of 52 or more as it was in the past. Wake up politician's (PUBLIC SERVANT) as your day is coming, and you be joining the unemployed and learn first hand what it can feel like to be jobless. More jobs will be lost, more Banks will fail and you can only blame yourselves for letting Bush and Cheney get away with robbing the working American public who are as dumb and naive as Sarah Palin!
