For the working man, Really? What about the man who worked all his life and now can not find a job? What about the woman who has a degree and still can not find a job. Me and my wife are far from “criminals” and/or people who take advantage of the system (you know the lazy scum bags that you seem to make us unemployed look like). Went to school, worked hard, got a home, had a family and now it is being taken away, why you say? Because of the arrogance of the silver spoon Senators who will not implement anything to help us out (you know the ones who voted for you). I have not even got to tier one and my benefits were taken away, at least have the heart to give EVERYONE the same chance of looking for work with out becoming homeless in the process (which we are about a week away from being with out a place to live…our saving only lasted us a few months and it has been total of 4 with out any luck in finding work.

This extention on unemployment has to be passed. I’am an American and have been unemployed since dec 2009.I look for work almost everyday with no luck at all!This is the first time in my 42 yrs of life that I havent had a job.An American born and raised in here, who needs your help! I have finished my 28 weeks of unemployment, and have no teir 1 or extention to help me with my bills.THIS BILL ON JULY 12TH NEEDS TO BE PASSED IMMEDIATELY!Or I go on the street to live. Vote yes! How about ones that are actually enforced and work to protect our fellow Americans. I believe the FDA needs an ‘overhaul’ in terms of legislation. there is too much stuff they let slip through that is killing Americans without them even knowing it might be dangerous.

Becuase most Texanzs who vote are brainwashed conservatives, and most texans who are not conservative do not vote becuase they either see no point or they are fed up with everything. Either way it’s the same story. I live in Texas right now and I am ashamed to call most of the people I run into here all the time ‘fellow Americans.’ They are uneducated, almost fanatically religiouls, and they constantly praise Bush, Rush Limbuagh, Glen Beck, and Ann Coulter as the wisest people of their day. That’s how idiots like Cornyn get elected.

Dear Senator Cornyn,
S.3520 needs to be passed immediately. There are 15 million Americans who are “unemployed through no fault of their own,” and who are also frantically attempting to find new jobs that do not exist. The majority of these 15 million have a family dependent upon their income, so that increases the number to possibly 30 or even 45 million Americans who are in imminent danger of losing everything. When this happens, the financial and moral ramifications for this country will be dire indeed. I’ll say it again— S.3520 needs to be passed immediately! Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

You are a disgrace to your country and should be embarrassed to have the UNITED STATES in front of your title.4th of July is upon us-it reminds us of history and how the people can come together to make a difference.I hope you and your family meet the same outcome as the 15,000,000+ unemployed.You turned your back on the Citizens by playing games and stupid antics.Assistance needs to be offered to ease the minds of the families and allow continued dignity no matter the cost. When you held the position of the Attorney General of Texas your office was absolutely no help to help to me while I was trying to recover the more than $18K my exhusband owed me in back child support for my oldest daugther. Now you are a US Senator, once again your office is of no assistance. I am now raising two young children and have been unemployed for more than a year. The $392 I draw each week in unemployment is the only reason we are not homeless! I have worked, paid taxes and social security for more than 30 years. I am 25 years away from being able to draw social security, for which I am sure I will never see a dime due to government’s overspending and I’m not talking about overspending on unemployment extensions! I have also been a lifelong Republican but not anymore. You and Kay Bailey Hutchinson will both receive a nay vote from me come re-election time and hopefully from everyone else I can convince to do the same!

You and the rest of the Republicans are so transparent! President Obama, as well as us Americans, know what you are doing. Stalling and not voting on what the people want and need in this country. Do the job you were elected to do, and start voting! Your tactics in stalling is only going to back fire on you all. Show our President some respect. How you treat him, is a reflection on how you treat us Americans. We may have been fooled in the past, but not anymore! We The People have spoken by electing President Obama into office. We need change and we need it now! And quit blaming President Obama for the disaster in the Gulf. Enough is enough!

I have to respond to that pathetic assumtion that people would not work if they get unemployment insurance. Do you know that they only receive a max of $314 a week. Could you live and support a family on that? In order to get that amount, the typical person would have to have had a job pay $40000 a year. I don’t think that getting $314 a week would solve ribs persons problems.
Please be careful before casting broad opinions without thinking through all facts.

As I can appreciate your situation, I feel you are being pretty unreasonable. How many extensions would be reasonable? What do you feel would be appropriate amount of time to pay someone to not work? Now, I can assume your husband is not one of the minority of people who would gladly not work forever if they received unemployment benefits indefinitely.

There are many other ways to get your husband back to working. Those avenues however, are not suitable to the current administration. Senator Cornyn would gladly lower income tax rates on businesses and individuals to help drive hiring and spending. But since, according to Congress, business are evil, they must be taxes.

Businesses pay all of our bills. Not the government. Senator Cornyn is on your side.

We have food safely laws. Perhaps you should be a little more specific.

Mr JR Ledbetter. Thousands are in jail for simple possesion of marijuana which is less harmfull that alchohol. Don’t you think it is about time to make pot legal and add it to the list of sin-taxable items? The war on drugs is a failing, time to try new approach.

How dare you? Are you gonna hire my husband? Pay for things my daughter needs ?? my electric/water/car bills??? NO so the only other way till somebody gets off the H1B band wagon and hires my husband is UE. I can’t get a job..no one will hire me as I"ve been a SAHM carring for my family for over 10yrs and there are waaaay to many people that have been in the work force to hire over me… BUT we continue to look pray we keep our home/car (we only have 1 now..try to pay car insurance and most other bills…. I’m ashamed to say I voted for you the first time…didn’t make the same mistake twice tho….

How could Sen. Cornyn have voted for this bill when it hasn’t come to a vote in the Senate? This was a House bill, not a Senate bill.
