In reference to S.1725: A bill to amend the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, and title 5, United States Code, to improve the protection of pension benefits, and for other purposes. This bill was introduced over a year ago...what is happening?

I went on long term disability leave in Feb 2000, was awarded a pension equal to minimum wage...then in May 2007 the company reduced my pension by half without notice. Then, 2 months later I got a letter informing me that they had made an erroneous mistake and that I would have to pay back approx 50K dollars of overpayment. The company has become mute and does not want to cooperate or listen to my woes...If they deduct my current pension for the next 7 years, it will have a devistating effect on my financial stability and good credit. Basically we will join the ranks of the homeless and hungry.

Call me for specific information. Tony 505 8778194

    Senator Harkin,
In Reference to the Senate Bill 2433. Why would we send our monies to the United Nations to assist in Global Poverty. Why are we not taking care of our own Americans that are living in Poverty? Where do you stand on this bill, so you support it?
    Another worried working American. rvb@iowatelecom.net

    Senator Harkin,
Just read HR45, what in the name of our rights and freedom are you Senators doing allowing a "Bill" such as this go this far. As a good citizen who uses a gun to hunt and keep varments away from our rural home, it is inconcievable to think in the UNITED States of AMERICA an "official" could enter our homes and check to see if our guns are stored properly and if deemed by them to be in an unsafe condition, take them. Everyone out there had better be yelling NO to this bill. Guns have a place in the life of rural Americans and it is not the only "weapon" that kills. WHAT IS NEXT OUR KITCHEN KNIVES?

    Senator Harkin,
I think that it is very telling that you would help a bill like S909. This bill, while it may look good on the outside will be twisted and "perverted" (an appropriate term) to unintended uses. Please end your support for this bill.

It is a tragedy that in the USA we have to worry about communism. That is just what HR 45 is and it is obvious that no one has taken the time to research this. IT DOES NOT WORK. You will place the law abiding people at risk. You can always find a illegal gun and that is just what we will have to do if you all force us into communism. You will force law abiding people to become criminals.
