Senator Snowe, thank you for doing the right thing. You voted against the Blunt Amendment. The GOP war on women’s health and attaching it to a transportation bill is party suicide! You are on the right side of history. I’m sorry the GOP is so extreme that good people like you are not comfortable serving. It is dysfunctional and needs to change. Good luck to you.

MTeinert 07/15/2010 7:46pm
Thank You Ms. Snowe for overlooking the childish bipartisan issues that are keeping this country from prosperity, and voting for what you think is right. You are truly a leader and not a follower like most senators in congress. We need more leaders like you in the White house. You are truly appreciated and once again thank you. Thank you. Thank you!

Dear Mrs. Snowe,

I hope you will join me and vote “No Confidence” in Obama. Huge Deficit spending, Nationalized banking, nationalized healthcare, nationalized auto-industry. Hello!? None of these are representative of the Republican party values, as I understand them. Crisis→ catastrophe→ Soviet-States-Of-America. Sorry, I don’t buy it.

Is this the “Change” Americans were “Hoping” for? Please remember how much blood has been shed to protect us from this. Will no-one wake-up and stop this maniac?

Please help stop the socialization of America.

Balanced budget anyone? The CHANGE we all need: If a request to spend Tax Payers money doesn’t pass through the appropriations committee with a “zero” in the balanced box, then it is irresponsible government – pork-amondous – fraud against the American people.

Sincerely,
-Mitch Farrar

Of course she’s popular with Democrats and “moderates”…which is why it’s such an offense she flies the Republican party banner! I’m fed up with both parties – CONSTITUTIONALISTS, GET OUT AND VOTE.

I thought the issues I voted for were timely and worthwhile, seems as if our candidates do not see the urgency.
That’s scary.

Dear Mrs. Snowe,

The passing of this H.R.1388 Bill as we see and understand it, returns the World, and America to a bygone era, akin to what the German people were subjected to by their government in the 30’s.
I don’t support Federalized Volunteerism, especially when it is mandatory and the mandatory education (indoctrination) of our children.
I strongly urge you return to the citizens of the United States of America, the Free Speech guaranteed to them in our Constitution. Individuals who volunteer to serve in this institution, who wish to serve the people of the USA via this government program, should retain the right of free speech, just as you retain your right to free speech!
We insist that you, as our elected official, work to REPEAL H.R. 1388.
Frighteningly Yours,
Mitch Farrar

Honorable Senator Snowe:

In the upcoming vote on the Health Care bill, I urge you to think not as a member of the Republican Party but as a woman of wisdom.

How can you or anyone else justify voting for any bill that can’t be read and analyzed? Regardless of assurances given, if it can’t be read and analyzed first, it should never be approved. Especially one that will impact every citizen throughout the US? To Vote blindly is not only unwise, it is unethical! Please don’t make this mistake again! We don’t want it and simply can’t afford it.

Senator Snowe, I strongly urge you to make the right choice and vote against any bill you don’t know what is actually included nor the real cost. Don’t make this mistake again; Your constituents and all of the citizens of our country deserve better.

Vote NO on the Health Bill!!

Thank you.

You and the rest of the Republicans are so transparent! President Obama, as well as us Americans, know what you are doing. Stalling and not voting on what the people want and need in this country. Do the job you were elected to do, and start voting! Your tactics in stalling is only going to back fire on you all. Show our President some respect. How you treat him, is a reflection on how you treat us Americans. We may have been fooled in the past, but not anymore! We The People have spoken by electing President Obama into office. We need change and we need it now! And quit blaming President Obama for the disaster in the Gulf. Enough is enough!

Revolution 06/28/2010 7:09pm

You are a disgrace to your country and should be embarrassed to have the UNITED STATES in front of your title.4th of July is upon us-it reminds us of history and how the people can come together to make a difference.I hope you and your family meet the same outcome as the 15,000,000+ unemployed. You turned your back on the Citizens by playing games and stupid antics.Assistance needs to be offered to ease the minds of the families and allow continued dignity no matter the cost. You spend OUR money like water and the American people MUST and SHOULD be priority one!
“As good government is an empire of laws, how shall your laws be made? In a large society, inhabiting an extensive country,it is impossible that the whole should assemble to make laws. The first necessary step, then,is to depute power from the many to a few of the most wise and good.”
John Adams, Thoughts on Government, 1776
Obviously we dont have the few wise and good in the senate-but we have the power to change that.

Dear Senator Snowe,
S.3520 needs to be passed immediately. There are 15 million Americans who are “unemployed through no fault of their own,” and who are also frantically attempting to find new jobs that do not exist. The majority of these 15 million have a family dependent upon their income, so that increases the number to possibly 30 or even 45 million Americans who are in imminent danger of losing everything. When this happens, the financial and moral ramifications for this country will be dire indeed. I’ll say it again— S.3520 needs to be passed immediately! Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

First you should never make law on an extreme situation because it will not help but a very small select few. It will then clash with the laws that protect all of us. We need to work in the laws already in place to help those in need. Or if need be remove laws that don’t protect everyone.

It’s time to get all new representatives; they are all dirty, all on the take and drunk on the rich man’s money. A drunken sailor is more conservative then these guys.

It is my opinion that we need to put a stop to career politicians they go into office with good intentions and retire corrupt, bank accounts full and us (the common man) a lot poorer then the year before.

Ladies and Gentleman I know what you are thinking; “No my guy is honest, good and pure as the Antarctic wind driven show” NOT SO! Our representatives are like children with their dad’s cell phone and when dad gets the bill he is angry because there isn’t the money in the budget to pay the bills. So the family eats macaroni and cheese for the next three months.

Listen to reason my friends; if we keep doing what we have been doing we will keep getting what we’ve been getting. TIME TO CLEAN HOUSE.

I think that she needs to change her party to democrat. She truly does not vote for the republic of which our country was founded on. Watch CSPAN to see that her votes are never in the best interest of the american people, whom she was elected to represent.
She is trying to now make the president have the authority to shut down the internet. They are trying to take away our freedom of rights!
Health care bill is NOT reform, since they will not make the costly insurance rates that are caused by lawsuits included in this bill. Dean said they don’t want to make the lawyers mad, since they support the democrats with contributions. sounds like bribery to me.
I hope you people in Maine wake up and vote this woman out.

Dear Senator,
I need the extention for unemployment to be passed quickly. I have worked for more than 45 years. This is the 1st time I have been forced into unemployment. My office closed due to the economy. I went back to school to change careers and go into healthcare. I graduated among the top of my class but can’t find employment. I email, fax, and mail 4-7 resumes daily. Because of the greedy on Wall Street and my lack of knowledge I have lost all of my retirement savings. If this bill isn’t passed quickly, I will be 63 yr old homeless grandmother. My savings has been depleted in the past yr to pay my education, housing and monthly bills. I drive an 11 yr old car and live week to week. I don’t understand how the Congress of the United States can turn its back on the very people it has sworn to serve. Then I saw this:
Mrs Clinton announced aid worth $7.5bn for Pakistan at the start of talks in Islamabad. She said the US wanted to show it cared about ordinary Pakistanis.

Olympia Snowe is actually very popular with her constituents, and in fact she has the highest approval rating of her constituents of all senators, and to prove it she got 74 percent of the vote in 2006 in a Democratic lock state for Presidental Elections, including 50 percent of Democratic voters who voted in 2006, when the Democrats took control of Congress!

betterUSAlessgov 10/21/2009 5:10pm

I have never been one to think government controls our lives until this moment. We the people of the United States of America have fought for freedom, our ancestors left a life without control, without freedom of religion, without freedom of speech, and taxes. What would they think now that our government is becoming more socialistic everyday? We built ourselves into a corner now that will take trillions of dollars to get us out. The health care reform will not help the average person. Myself for instance will be bearing an increase in my health insurance plan. If this bill passes I will be offered free health insurance right? WRONG. It’s not free with the $4,000.00 tax penalty at the end of the year. What is the point in spending more tax dollars with no benefit for the American people? We the people need to speak our voice because we do have an opinion and we do have control. After all our government works for us, we don’t work for our government.

dlramsey69 09/18/2009 5:57pm

Mister Senator,
I have one question for you. The H.R.45 – Blair Holt’s Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009. What are your thoughts on this bill? Will be become as the citizens of Australia, China, Malaysia, and other countries? Will we not have the right to defend our self without having to submit to the government saying if we can or cannot have a gun and then be taxed on each gun. This bill only puts more illegal guns out on the street and puts the law abiding citizens in more danger as that we would not be able to have protection of our home and property. Some people can’t afford the taxes we are forced to pay now. Then if this bill passes we will be taxed on our right to bear arms. Where will this all end?
Don Ramsey

I HOPE YOU ARE READING THESE POSTS, IF NOT THE BILLS, BECAUSE IT IS CLEAR THAT YOU ARE NOT REPRESENTING YOUR CONSTITUENTS.

purplelilac3084 10/14/2009 5:23am

Senator Snowe is a disgrace in representing the people. Yesterday she voted YES to the Baucus bill! Not one senator READ the bill, they didn’t even get it yet! What a disgrace to the constitution!
This bill taxes companies, fines us, takes money from Medicare, and will cost alot of money. We do NOT have any money. we are broke!
It is time we vote her out, and all senators who vote for a bill they don’t even bother to read!!!!

warrior,
I am telling you that Senator Olympia Snowe would not be in office “if she voted exactly like Tom Coburn or Jim DeMint”, because Maine is a state with the majority are non affiliated voters, aka moderates. Olympia Snowe is actually very popular with her constituents, she even has over 70 percent approval rating of voters in her state, and to prove it she got 74 percent of the vote in 2006 in a Democratic lock state for Presidental Elections, including 50 percent of Democratic voters who voted in 2006, which was a bad year for Republicans.

Stop the WAR on the Poor, the Elderly, the Disabled, our Veterans, our Military Men & Women & their Families! It is time to take a STAND & Stop Cuts to Social Programs to Reward the Rich! If there are any cuts to be made it should be to Reduce the POLITICIANS Pay! We should be Strengthening our Social Programs NOT Destroying them. It was NOT Consumers that Destroyed the Economy, It was the Rich, Corporations, Politicians and Stock Market Crooks that CONTINUE to DESTROY our Economy Today! Shame on YOU for NOT Taking a STAND! I AM~

jharding 12/05/2011 2:00pm

Ms. Snowe,

Have you READ the Bill of Rights? Have you read the National Defense Authorization Act? And if so, how COULD you vote AYE on the NDAA, recently passing the Senate this weekend? How can you not see the conflict between the two?

You do not represent me, and I am glad to let you know I will not be voting for your re-election this next fall.
