Surviving spouses of disabled Federal employees receive 55% of their deceased spouse’s monthly annuities; however surviving spouses of disabled vets receive only 45% of their deceased disabled veteran spouse’s income. Can someone explain why this inequity still exists? Wasn’t the soldier also a government employee?
