I am so ashamed this dictator loving jerk is from Washington. Vote to raise the cost of gas when the economy is already going down hill. I am not sure how this will repair our economy, what with cost of gas at 3.45/gal and now you want to tax it higher? What really makes me angry and will push me over to the Republican side is the tax break you gave Hugo Chavez. How dare you give someone who is our enemy a tax break? If this is your way of representing us then I resent it and you. What are you going to tell the single parent who can not afford to take their child to the doctor because of the price of gas? or can not bye bread because the price went sky high? Get your priorites straight, you REPRESENT us. R. Matthews Sultan WA.

I cannot believe Washington representatives are representing the citizens when they sponsor such bills as
H.R.1302 Global Poverty Act of 2007
McDermott is just one of many "representative" co-sponsoring this bill.

People seem unaware, and perhaps our politicians are unaware as well, of the orchestrated plans of the United Nation since the early 1980s to redistribute the wealth of the United States to third world countries...towards a New World Order, or One World Government. This is not conspiracy or lunacy speaking. It's been well researched and documents exist along with speech transcripts. President H. Bush spoke of the New World Order, just three weeks after the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) had a three day conference in New York City on the New World Order.
Between a war in Iraq sending money we don't have, and now this bill and companion bill in the Senate...will rape the U.S. of massive tax or debt or both...playing into the hands of those who would rather not have a representative government. Well, folks, it isn't a representative government, the two major parties' leaders, not the voters determine who wins nominations, and between an electoral college and even manipulated voting machines...voters do not choose our representative, senators, or presidents. Remember Gore's popular vote?
Below is some required reading. And there are many more documents one can search for one the Internet.

One World by Tal Brooke ISBN: 1-930045-07-7, 270 pages, 211 photos. One World explains why America's rapid descent is no accident, its virtues and values of yesteryear and the public memory of once great liberties and freedoms, erased like some vast hard drive. Now the anticipated signs of a techno-tyranny are beginning to emerge. Rhetoric about conservative values are used merely to placate the public. A New World Order could arrive virtually overnight and be unlike anything the world has ever seen, affecting every life on the planet and far from the utopian picture of universal brotherhood we are all being primed to expect.

One World uncovers the deep forces at work. The financial, political, military and spiritual arms of this powerful global agenda have an interlocking purpose that gives it almost irresistible power as history speeds toward world government.

I am glad to see the you voted Nay to S. 3325. You were one of the few people that stood up to special interests on this bill.

He's been in office too long. With 'tenure comes corruption' someone once said. Eleven terms, he's done enough damage don't you think? Let's get rid of him in 2010!!!

Rep. McDermott is a true progressive. I can always count on him to support civil rights, the environment, health care, and peace. I wish the country had more people like him in government.
