Dear Mr. Rodriguez,

I sent you a letter requesting and explaining why you should oppose Mr. Pierluisi’s H.R. 2499. Pro-statehood politicians in Puerto Rico cannot shove statehood down the throats of more than 50% of Puerto Ricans who do not want it. This is an anti-democratic and dictatorial bill. Please don’t forget you have hundreds, if not thousands of Puerto Ricans who reside in your Texas district who are watching whether you will side up with democracy or against it. H.R. 2499 is a gimmick and an affront to democracy. It should be opposed. Please read my letter so you understand why; in it, I shared with you everything Mr. Pierluisi hid from his co-sponsors. Thank you.
