Henry's not done anything to end the war. He's refused to consider impeachment. And he voted FOR the Peru Free Trade Agreement AND the Homegrown Terrorism Act that will finish off more of our constitutional rights.

I doubt that most people in his district realize he's not the "liberal" they sent to office years ago, since he continues to do his committee investigations that allow him to grandstand in the news. Unfortunately, these findings rarely achieve more than a press release. The obvious conclusion for them would be an investigation into impeachment which he has steadfastly refused to consider in direct opposition to many constituents (W.Hollywood) and the voters in 06. But no one is willing to run against him because of his massive contribution network that he continues to milk each year regardless of no opposition.

Mr. Waxman sought to use the Roger Clemens and the Mitchell Report to focus himself into the heat and light of the hearing. Any fair minded Democrat watching the hearing would conclude Mr. Waxman did a very poor job with the hearing. I hope his support within the commitee is now diminsihed. Sorry Roger!

Sibel Edmonds was a translator in the FBI Washington Field Office. While there reviewing documents in Turkish, she saw information indicating that US government officials (State Dept, Defense Dept, Congress -- both parties) were being paid off by front groups for Turkish organized crime. She reported this information, and the attempts of the American Turkish Council (ATC) to recruit her. She was fired.

She went through channels with the matter, and her case was reviewed by the Department of Justice/Office of the Inspector General, by two US Senator, and by the 60 Minutes newsteam, who did a story. Each time, those of Edmonds' allegations which were looked into were confirmed. Despite all this, nothing has been done; the Bush Administration has gagged Sibel Edmonds in court, imposing State Secrets Privilege and preventing Edmonds from discussing the case, supposedly in the interests of national security.

Congressman Waxman has been briefed on all this and promised in 2006 that should the Democrats win Congress, he would hold public hearings in the Sibel Edmonds case. The Democrats won, and the Democrat-controlled Congress was convened in January of 2007. In February, a new Turkish lobby group came into existence, organized by the same crowd that set up the ATC as a front: the Turkish Coalition of America (TCA). Congressman Waxman is a member of the TCA's Congressional Caucus.

Needless to say, Congressman Waxman has not held hearings into the Sibel Edmonds case (which deals the influence of Turkish organized crime in American politics), as Mr. Waxman promised.

May Waxman from this day forward be remembered for the abomination that is H.R. 2454. May people remember him for being a weasle and nitpicking Boehner's filibustering for the time he took instead of standing on the merits of H.R. 2454 (there are none). The bill is voted on and passed unread, it sanctions taxation without representation, and it gives more control to government over our lives. More jobs? More like more bureaucracy as it opens up more government regulatory agency positions--wonderful what it will do for the average joe.

Why does it seem like every time there's a bill that goes directly against the liberties of the American people, this guy is a sponsor?

Waxman actually represents my district. I'm very frustrated and fed up with him. My family has had a home in his district for over 60 years. We have never been able to meet him though we have attended many of the events he has appeared at. We are alwasy usurped by men in suits and big business. I'm sick and tired of dealing with aides and 22 year old clerks, et al. I want to meet, before I die, in person and talk with the people who make life and death decisions that directly affect me and my family.
