This is a desperate and urgent plea:
There is a legality resulting daily death & injury.
Jails & prisons have aprox. 50% mentally-ill inmates. They treat those mentally-ill with psychotropic medications & then release them one minute after midnight, without further medication someplace, every night.

The way the law is, when a prisoner has served their time they are to be released a designated day. That day begins one minute after midnight. No further obligation to meet prescription needs is in effect. It would be more than cost effective to wait until they could be transferred to a hospital psychiatric ward to set up out-patient treatment. Our hospital can not handel that amount of psychiatric business. THEY ONLY HAVE ONE PSYCHIATRIST! They are in the planning stages for a new hospital & could make a difference.

Can you write a bill that will correct these errors in our legal system?

Please let me know.

Respectfully yours,
Tom R. Ilsley Jr.
