Sir,
Though your father’s true sentiments are questioned by some, he is still best remembered as a pioneer of the civil rights era. Please do your father proud by voting to support not only civil rights, but the human right to good health care.

No one should lose a home, their family or their life because this country cannot provide for its citizens. It is un-American to believe the U.S. cannot do what others have done in providing healthcare to all. We can do better. We must do better.

Do not think you are doing “our will” by voting against healthcare reform. Kentuckians want and need good healthcare, perhaps more so than any other state, as we are so often at the top of the list when it comes to suffering from heart disease, colon cancer, obesity and more. You must not allow the Republican Party and Fox News to deceive Americans into believing healthcare reform is somehow communist, socialist or un-American.

Please find the courage to do what you know is right for Kentucky.

Any politician who only votes 71% of the time with his own party is not a true supporter of the constituents who voted for and elected that person to represent them. I truly doubt that you will be re-elected the next time around. I can at least say you won’t have my support.
