Please encourage your colleague, Lamar Smith, to schedule a hearing for H.R. 2306. The founding father’s never intended to make hemp production illegal in the U.S., they actually farmed hemp on plantations for its many benefits. Please, I urge Lamar Smith to schedule an honest debate in order to move the issue to the states. This is what our founding fathers intended. The Cannabis plant has more uses than any other natural resource in the world but yet it is made illegal out political posturing and racism. Please encourage hearing of H.R. 2306 so the matter can be determined by the states. Once every 37 seconds an American is arrested for possessing a substance that has not killed 1 person since the beginning. Tylenol has killed more people this year. Tobacco has killed more people this year. Alcohol has killed more people this year. You have a greater chance of getting struck by lightning in the same spot twice than overdosing on marijuana.
placing your own constituents on “watch lists” is disgusting. if you can’t handle criticism you should find a new line of work.
