Featured Members of Congress
On June 03, 2008 Robert Byrd was featured on the homepage of OpenCongress:
Robert Byrd (D-WV), 90, the longest-serving U.S. senator in history, was hospitalized on Monday night after suffering from a high fever. It unclear whether the hospital visit is anything more than precautionary. It is the third time Byrd has been hospitalized in the past year. Earlier in the day, Byrd joined 13 Republicans as the only Democrat voting against debating the Climate Security Act, and he issued a stern written rebuke to Vice President Dick Cheney's incest joke about West Virginians.
