The generally moderate Senate Budget Committee Chairman Kent Conrad [D, ND] said the day after the election of Republican Scott Brown to the Senate that he was <a href="http://thehill.com/homenews/senate/77097-conrad-opens-door-to-reconciliation-for-healthcare">open</a> to using the controversial "budget reconciliation" process to pass health care reform. The process would allow for the House to pass the Senate's health care bill and then pass improvements to the bill as separate stand-alone measures that wouldn't being subject to Republican filibusters.
