Jane Harman (D-CA) was recorded on wiretap in 2006 telling a suspected Israeli agent that she would push the Justice Department to drop espionage-related charges against AIPAC in exchange for their help in getting her the chairmanship of the House Intelligence Committee. Former AG Gonzales intervened to stop an investigation in exchange for Harman's help in defending the Bush administration's warrantless wiretapping program.
