On June 22, 2008 Tim Johnson was featured on the homepage of OpenCongress:
Timothy Johnson (R-IL) was the only Republican in the House to vote "nay" on the new FISA bill, which contains the controversial telecom immunity compromise. A spokesman told Ars Technica that Johnson voted "nay" "because he's worried about its impact on civil liberties, and he believes that the necessary authority for the intelligence agencies already exists. He's talked to people on the front lines, and the system works very effectively now."
