Meek was born September 6, 1966 in Miami, Florida. He was educated at Florida A&M University, and was a member of the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Senate before entering the House.
He was elected to the U.S. House in 2002, succeeding his mother, Congresswoman Carrie Meek, who retired. He is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus and a member of the "30 Something Working Group", a House caucus that consists of democratic members in their 30's. Read More...
