The powerful House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Rep. Charles Rangel [D, NY-15] has been found by the House Ethics Committee to have violated ethics rules by improperly accepting trips to the Caribbean in 2007 and 2008 from corporations that employ lobbyists. He has been asked to repay the cost of the trips, and some Democrats have already started calling for him to give up his Ways and Means gavel.
