Tom Reynolds (R-NY) recently announced that he will retire from Congress at the end of this session. “While there is always more to do, elected officials are only temporary stewards of the people’s trust. That’s why today I am announcing that I will not seek and be a candidate for reelection," he said to a crowd of supporters. Reynolds chaired the NRCC heading into the 2006 elections, when the GOP lost its majority status in the House for the first time in 12 years.
