Freshman Senator Bob Corker (R-TN) has received a lot of attention lately for his role as the leading Republican negotiator in the failed Big Three bailout deal. Corker's main proposal, which ultimately led to the collapse of the bailout plan in Congress, was to require the car companies to reduce the wages and benefits of their union workers to be on par with those of Toyota and Honda workers, by a date certain.
