California's 32nd congressional district is a congressional district in the U.S. state of California based in Los Angeles County. The district covers East Los Angeles and includes El Monte, Monterey Park and West Covina in Greater Los Angeles. The district is currently represented by Democrat Judy Chu. Chu won a special election in April 2009 to succeed fellow Democrat Hilda Solis who resigned upon her confirmation as U.S. Secretary of the Department of Labor with the Obama Administration. In the 2012 United States elections, due to redistricting, Chu will be running for Representative in California's 27th congressional district, while Grace F. Napolitano will be running as a Democrat in the 32nd district, having been displaced from the 38th district. (More from Freebase)
