Connecticut's 2nd congressional district is a congressional district in the U.S. state of Connecticut. Located in the eastern part of the state, the district includes the towns of New London, Norwich, Mansfield, Groton, and Enfield. The district is currently represented by Democrat Joe Courtney. The district includes the whole of each of the following towns, except where a percentage appears. Such a percentage notation indicates the proportion, to the nearest percent, of the corresponding town's population who were living, at the time of the 1990 U.S. Census, within the new boundary established in 1991 for the District. Barack Obama carried the district in 2008 with 59% of the vote, although it is generally considered a swing district. (More from Freebase)
