Florida's 17th congressional district is a congressional district in the U.S. state of Florida. Located in South Florida, the majority African American district includes the southern parts of Broward County and the eastern parts of Miami-Dade County. Included within the district are Pembroke Pines, Hollywood, Miramar, and North Miami. The district is currently represented by Democrat Frederica S. Wilson who won election in 2010 to the open seat vacated by Kendrick Meek in his unsuccessful U.S. Senate bid. (More from Freebase)
