Iowa's 2nd congressional district is a congressional district in the U.S. state of Iowa that generally covers most of the southeastern part of the state including Iowa City and Cedar Rapids. The district is currently represented by Democrat Dave Loebsack. On June 22, 2001, the Iowa Legislature passed a plan to redistrict the state of Iowa. The plan went into effect in 2002 for the 108th U.S. Congress. The prior redistricting plan was effective from 1992-2001. (More from Freebase)
