Texas District 3 of the United States House of Representatives is a Congressional district that serves a suburban area north and northeast of Dallas. It encompasses a large portion of Collin County including McKinney, Plano, and Frisco, and the northeast corner of Dallas County including parts of Garland and Rowlett. As of the 2000 census, District 3 represents 651,620 people who are predominantly Caucasian (76.7%) and middle-to-upper-class (median family income is US$74,314, compared to $50,046 nationwide). The current Representative from District 3 is Sam Johnson and has been since 1991. Please note that U.S. Congressional District borders are periodically redrawn and some District Residence locations may no longer be in the 3rd District. (More from Freebase)
