S.1 - American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009
- Anonymous : And every single one will be re-elected, and there will be fewer Republicans in 2010. Adjust for that.
- Anonymous : Why is it that the law abiding citizens are the first to encourage others to break the law? Maybe their selfishness and self centeredness has finally come to the surface.
Refuse to pay yoour taxes, and expect a large fine. The Republicans cut the staff at the IRS and SEC. The Democrats have doubled it.

H.R.2454 - American Clean Energy And Security Act of 2009
- rcmyer : Global Warming is a Hoax! Information is spreading like a wildfire in the blogosphere regarding the University of East Anglia Climate Research Unit (CRU) hacked email files. If true, this astonishing information will uncover the scientific fraud that many have suspected.
See:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/8370282.stm
and
http://biased-bbc.blogspot.com/2009/11/hadley-hacked.html
Some excerpts from the second site:
"There's an email from American climate scientist Tom Wigley advising Professor Jones how to manipulate some data to emphasise warming trends."
"..another from Jones in which he tells a colleague that he's used the same "trick" as Michael Mann (Mr Hockey Stick) "to hide the decline", and in yet another he calls the reported death of a climate sceptic "cheering news".
To be sure, more details will be revealed in the coming days, but if you ever needed a reason to doubt the global warming hoax this is it. Its time for Congress to wake up and kill these bills.
- Betonavette : This moronic bill should just be labeled: "Cap & Tax" because that is all that it will lead to. What a joke! Making big government.....bigger!

H.R.3404 - Emergency Unemployment Compensation Extension Act of 2009
- michaelwilliams : I think people forget that even though there are a lot of unemployed people out there, unemployment benefits are essentially charged to the employer. This means that employers are going to be out a lot more money, money that they now have to make up for by raising prices or lowing payrole. Lower payrole and layoffs only brings more unemployment. This bill is a black hole for the United States' economy.
- Private : I am trying to wrap my mind around all that has happened since I last logged in a few months ago. My benefits are all exhausted and work is still this illusive dream I only experience in my memories. What is HR 3548? and does it present hope of an extension for those of us that have exhausted all benefits?

S.482 - Senate Campaign Disclosure Parity Act
- LibertarianLady : It would be really nice if senators were required to file both paper AND in electronic format. The elimination of a paper trail is somewhat worrisome to me.
- irabinovitch : Does anyone know why Senators Hatch, Sanders, Dorgan, Hutchison, Murkowski, Landrieu, and Menendez are not cosponsoring the Senate Campaign Disclosure Parity Act this session? They did in the 110th, when it was S. 223.
