- imakeroads : Equality in marriage for homosexuals does not just benefit homosexuals, it benefits the entire society. My wife of twenty some years figured out that she was repressing her true orientation as a lesbian. If she could marry her partner, they both could check the box "married" on their 1040 form, and that would legally end my obligation to pay her spousal support (aka alimony). But NOOOOO. They can't get married, so they cohabitate and live as if they are married, and I still pay alimony. I've been a nice guy and allowed a "legal separation" to linger so she can continue to be on my health insurance, but if she could get married, she'd get better health insurance from her partner, who is a veteran; but instead...I'm still technically "married" and can't get on with my life to remarry my fiance. This situation is preventing me from having a "marriage between a man and a woman"...so I'm cohabitating with her. Do you see how non-recognition of my 2-b-x's relationship as a marriage is hurting the "marriage between a man and a woman?". I mean, come on! Get off your homophobia and treat everyone equally. It is not marrying your dog, it is not marrying a third person...stop with all of those lame comparisons. Once upon a time we didn't allow marriage between two races. Thomas Jefferson had a common law marriage with a black woman. Get with Canada and other civilized countries and recognize that allowing marriage between two loving human beings, regardless of gender, is the moral and holy right thing to do, even if government really should stay out of the whole thing like others are saying. Unfortunately, the government has that damn 1040 form with it's "filing status" definition. Will you add a box that says "domestic partnership"? I don't think so. So the only solution to my problem is to allow marriage between two adults, regardless of gender.
- seatwist : This is not the belief of just a few. It is the majority request of Americans to have it defined as marriage between one man and one woman. We are the voters asking for this law. Congress did not sit down one day and decide to change history. It is the voters who have been pressuring congress to pass a law.

- Anonymous : Nancy Pelosi needs to go. She and her fellow Democrats are the reason our country is broken. I am tired of hearing out of her mouth how the Bush administration is responsible. They really think we are stupid. Democrats were behind the sub-prime lending practices, pushing banks to relax their lending practices with the help of Acorn's bully tactics. All roads to the economy failure lead back to Democrats, especially Barney Frank, Chris Dodd and many others. They need to stop blaming Bush and Wall Street greed.
- Anonymous : Agreed!!!! Pelosi shames the political process by her self serving agendas and partisan rhetoric. She and all of the other "career politicians" need to go. We need new blood in Washington that listens to the voice of American citizens.

I will not weary you in a lot of vague ideas and experiences, for they will offer nothing to give action toward your investigating the area of my concern. My concern is coming from above, namely Space Satellites. The Federal Government has placed in space, for National Security reasons Space Stations to observe areas of our great country, thinking that our enemies may attack us. Of course, some individuals within the Government, citizens too, believe any and all means are necessary to protect and defend the citizens of this Great Nation, and I agree. The thing is, these Satellites can and are being used for seeking out and disrupting citizens from their normal everyday activities. Satellite technology doing harm to citizens is a dastardly thing within any country when their technology becomes the controlling factor to those citizens living “the pursuit of happiness” dream. For me to comprehend its existence, Satellite Technology and its usage is as mysterious as its ramifications on my life. The continuous effect of The Satellite Program has advanced my interest; otherwise, I would have never become involved. The effects of Satellite bombardment are unbroken in any and all my endeavors. The Satellite program has totally surrounded me, controlling me, consequentially forging me outside my normal existence. It is difficult to describe the effects and harm the U S Government is doing to my body. My toenail has a tear; toes are discolored, small reddest mark on different part of my body. Laser is being used more of late, due to it’s effectiveness in penetrating my surround barriers. There is no end to the torturing I’m suffering. To say the least, I need something done, an immediately. I’m hoping you may help me in this distressing matter. As I understand, nearly a year of constant surveillance and harmful penetration, satellites are operated by using a ground coordinator. A person who physically monitors, making contact with me, following me by vehicle or coming close to my approxime while in stores, etc. The spying while in my home is done with equipment in neighboring homes, surveillance of my every move 24 hours a day. - lerichards : Feb. 28, 2008 The U S Government has become dangerous to all U S Citizens. Fear has gripped the Government and many people of The United States, causing havoc among all citizens. Not in history of civilization has such atrocities been realized. Spying and torture has become a common practice to any individual living or not living the productive life, people who live peacefully, people who are satisfied with their lives. Once the Government considers a person or persons an outsider, they are considered alien and a danger to the society. The government fears these people for their disrupting the overall progress of the American Way. Growth and prosperity, has become a major concern to those people dwelling in luxury and vanity, while individuals who are satisfied with the common way of living are scrutinized and condemned for being lazy and indifferent to any advancement. America is the product of devastation to the planet Earth, and the realm of outer space. The government has sold-out to the destruction of this planet with endless violations, removing the material resources and destroying natural environment, ending nearly all ecosystems for the natural forms of life. The elderly, in their time to relax and enjoy the things they have accomplished, the government relentlessly hounds, reminding the retired they are still useful and can be of some consequence to the community around them. The government continues to rely on production and progress, the very accomplishments that are burying any hopes of this planet Earth from ever recovering from absolute destruction. The End
