S.2248 - Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 Amendments Act of 2008
- dragonfly777 : Not even the government of the United States should operate with all immunity. There must remain a system of checks and balances. There must be a system that everyone has to answer to to keep abuse of power under control. Too bad on this date 6/30/09 that the government of the Unitied States thinks it no longer answers to the people. That will change soon.
- Anonymous : We have just witnessed multiple felonies committed by Herr Bush to cover up multiple felonies that the Telecoms committed. But if it were you or I that did it, they would hound us and get some whore prosecutor to hang us. Ahhh, Amerika!

H.Res.530 - Censuring George W. Bush.
- TBSchemer : Give it a rest already, lest we start censuring Democrats for violations of Constitutional Amendments 10 and 13.
- karinova : Agreed. I'm all for censure in re: points 1 & 2.
Point 3 is debatable, and should be its own bill.

S.Res.303 - A resolution censuring the President and the Attorney General.
- adelie : I am sorry to see so may votes and no comments, but it happens.
I initially disagreed wit this resolution because there are other more pressing issues in light of the time and expense necessary to follow through on a censure. Especially with the presidential term being so close to being over, what would be the point...
Well, that is what I had to think about. What would be the point of spending so much time and money to label the president and attorney general as having made "unpopular decisions", "unrepresentative" of the desire of the American public... AT LEAST!
Well, i think it would show that the government can be held responsible as necessary by itself through the balance of powers established by the US Constitution, that the constitution and the law is meaningful, and that "justice for all" are not "just words".
If we want people of this country to respect and believe in the rule of law, everybody must be accountable, especially the President and Attorney General.
If laws are just excuses for tyrants to justify their crimes, this would explain the political apathy of most Americans. This must change!

H.Res.333 - Impeaching Richard B. Cheney, Vice President of the United States, for high crimes and misdemeanors.
- calvininsf : I believe this is entirely just and will be surprised if he is not brought before international court.
- eagleriver90 : Oh, give it a rest. Dick Cheney was vetted constantly by all members of Congress, including the most liberal ones, who also approved and voted for all these "high crimes" - Are you all forgetting that little important fact? EVERYONE, including Bill Clinton when he was president, believed that there were WMD in Iraq. Even before Dick Cheney took on his 'evil persona' after he was voted in.
You people need to get a life and pay better attention to the real events - not just listen to those who would revise history!
