H.R.2885 - Legal Workforce Act
- Homebuilt7 : The government already regulates employment through the NLRB (National labor relations board). I'm sick of a government that is happy to allow illegal aliens to take jobs that belong to citizens.
- kevinmcc : You are right!
Congress cannot regulate employment under Article 1 Section 8.
Congress should:
To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union.
Lets raise the militia and arrest all the illegals, arm the border, and make sure they never return.

S.1196 - Accountability Through Electronic Verification Act
- RetiredPublicSafetydotCom : E-Verify simply is not an authorized power of Congress. We should use our limited federal resources to identify and deport illegal aliens when there is cause to do so versus requiring all citizens to get the government's permission to work. Immigration enforcement is the job of the government, not the employer. The last thing we need is yet another federal database with people's personal info in it. These databases are too easily hacked, even the "Dept. of Defense has learned this recently:"http://on.wsj.com/p2cCQs

H.R.2164 - Legal Workforce Act
- Kirk007 : I agree this is a very dangerous bill and should not pass.
We fought against governments who did this same sorta stuff in WWII and the Coldwar.
By allowing such infringements of rights we're throwing away all the sacrifices people made in the past for this to remain a free country.
- RetiredPublicSafetydotCom : I am opposed to any law that mandates E-Verify. This program is unconstitutional since under Article 1 Section 8 Congress cannot regulate private employment.
There are a number of better ways to rid us of illegal workers. It must be a state-level crime to be here illegally, and a process implemented for reporting, investigating, and deporting those that are working here illegally. This must be done with cause, otherwise we are making ourselves guilty until proven innocent yet again just like we've done with the federal driver license law REAL ID. That was another unconstitutional measure designed to rid us of illegal aliens that has cost millions here in Florida and not resulted in one illegal alien being identified.
