Please push to get the UI extension passed. My benefits ran out in December, I am turning 50 and have not found employment. My next step is welfare and I dont want that, I want to work! At this point anything would help. Thank you.

Hi to all, I just found this site while researching info on the UI extension. After reading some of the posts here I dont feel so alone and hopeless anymore! I collected my last check in December and since then I have been getting by with the good grace of my ex-husband and my college student son who, thankfully, has a pretty good job as a waiter. Im turning 50 next month and I no exaggeration I think I have been on over 100 job interviews the past year. Right now I am doing some babysitting for pocket cash and have applied to work in a convenience store at night. Oh, did I mention I am also a licensed realtor? Forget about it, I might as well try to sell trash to a landfill. Im praying for the extension, even a lousy 13 weeks would be a help so I can get some of my bills current. If something doesnt give soon, Im looking at welfare. And this from a woman who has worked since age 16, worked full-time raising two sons, etc. Its just so wrong that when the unemployment stats are presented, there is no accounting for those of us who have exhausted benefits and are suffering. Anyway thats my story, sorry for the rant but I know all of you have the same sick feeling in your gut that I have. Now I am going to contact the NJ reps and REALLY b*tch!
