H.R.96 Gun Show Loophole Closing Act of 2007
- AndrewJackson : This bill is just another way of the left trying to capture and seize all guns. Plus criminalize millions of now law biding citizens. So they can spread their elitist propaganda. Remember if you are a felon you can not vote, so if you get convicted for having a gun after any said gun control bill(s) pass. Who do you think will be running the country then? The ones who want you to be dependant on them for everything I personally believe in self-efficiency, self-reliance. Everybody better wake up or 10-15 years down the road America is going to be a very, very different place, and I don’t think I am going to like it very much
- Anonymous : "No Gun" is their real objective. They want everyone to be sitting ducks for all criminals. "No Gun" means that criminals will have guns, but not even need them. Criminals can rob, rape, and kill with their knives, clubs, hands, or any convenient weapon they pick up.
Other than that, the advice is good. Email your senators and spread the word about preserving gun rights and concealed carry rights.
The government cannot even stop the millions of illegal aliens running the underground economy, which supports vicious gangs. Gangs are the terrorists among us. Every illegal or gang member should get a criminal record so a criminal http://backgroundsearch.com background search will identify them as ineligible for jobs and public services. The gangs should go to jail or be deported.

- plewis : I wonder what the holdup on this one is.

H.Res.63 H.Res.63
- rbenech : This is right along the lines of other rules that we need to get our government to follow.
Check out Downsize DC @ http://www.downsizedc.org/
Specifically,
One subject at a time act, Read the bills act, Enumerated Powers act (where the bill has to site where in the constitution it is allowed)
- ericj : Why would anybody, congressperson or public, *not* want this to pass? How many contracts do you personally sign that you don't read through first? Even worse when it's not a personal contract, but a law that will take effect and be enforceable over the whole of the United States population.
It's sad this resolution even needed to be stated and formalized.

H.R.1022 Assault Weapons Ban and Law Enforcement Protection Act of 2007
- mason1 : What is this Crap, All they are Protecting are the Criminals, If everyone Carried, Like they do in some states, There would be a lot less crime. I know I was a CID in the Marines for over 12 Years and the Crime would go down very low when every one was permitted to carry, The shooters at the Collages would think twice if those adults where trained in firing courses and allowed to carry concealed. Perhaps the trained ROTC Students. The Cops Can NOT protect us they just come when we call, and inventory the DEAD, Oh well, its a shame, someone should have had a cop in the classroom.
WE ARE NOT PROTECTING THE PUBLIC, WE ARE PROTECTING THE CRIMINALS.....
Bill M.
- Anonymous : There is no tangible proof that this sort of thing does anything except restrict the rights of Citizens further. Crimes committed with these weapons are miniscule. More attention to enforcement of exsisting laws, certain punishment of violators and the return of reason are what we need.

H.R.676 United States National Health Insurance Act (or the Expanded and Improved Medicare for All Act)
- bpartoens : Dear twonursesus, Please keep up the good fight. Do not forget the amount of money Mr. McGuire made by back dating stock options (not illegal but failing to disclose so is not very ethical). I have been posting my story on-line for a year now (wall street journal, CNA etc..). I laugh at the proposals like the state of Colorado(where I reside), up for a vote. We are voting that companies that employ over 20 people provide health benefits for the employees. My husband works at a resort in Co. The company has over 6,000 employees. The property he works at has over 300. Just 2 weeks ago, 75% of the full time hourly employees were put back to part time. Don't worry, most will still have full time hours, because there is still work to be done, but this way the company will not have to pay into their retirement , health care, vacation, sick pay etc... There are not alot of jobs out there so people have to put up with this. Full time hours with no benefits. What a scam!
- luzagape : I can believe this was introduced a year ago and has not moved faster to get approved when in reality this will benefits no only the people who needs the medical attention now like the seniors but those who are young and active and are expose to live, to accidents, to new viruses, diseases, and what about the children? nothing more depressing that a sick kid who can not have a normal life....
keep this moving PLEASE....

H.Res.333 H.Res.333
- Anonymous : Cheney attended Yale University, but he flunked out. Cheney was twice prosecuted for and convicted of drunk driving. Cheney lied to former U.S. House Majority Leader Dick Armey about the grounds for going to war in Iraq. Cheney is a pathological liar. Cheney is incompetent. Cheney would like to think that he is above the law. However, Cheney must pay for crimes against the United States and the world.
Submitted by Andrew Yu-Jen Wang
B.S., Summa Cum Laude, 1996

- Static357 : I am pretty sure that our country has more important issues that need to be addressed right now. Kucinich is just grandtsanding for political purposes. If there was any merit to his arguments, the rancor would be deafening. No doubt Cheney made those statements, but is that really an impeachable offense?

S.1285 Fair Elections Now Act
- rbenech : Modeled on the successful systems in Maine, Arizona, and North Carolina, the bill will bring a Clean Elections modeled program for qualified congressional candidates. This historic moment means we now have bicameral bipartisan support for Fair Elections in Congress!

S.1060 Second Chance Act of 2007
- Anonymous : Please just pass this law, there are way to many non violent criminals as well as innocent people in our prison system that need to be back with their families. Most white collar crimes get longer sentences than drug offender or rapists this is unjust. Just pass the law soon!!

- karinova : Agreed. I'm all for censure in re: points 1 & 2.
Point 3 is debatable, and should be its own bill.
- eelozano : While I would like to support this bill because of several good points made, I can not vote aye on such a broad bill that attempts to censure the president both for the war in Iraq AND the Libby investigation.
