H.R.800 Employee Free Choice Act of 2007
- Anonymous : Altho my inherent disposition has forever been and will be for the rights of the worker, I don't understand this bill, it seems to fly in the face of of our electoral system:
If we pass this bill, it would seem that our next step is to say that Presidential elections should be handled in the same way.
Yet, aren't we guaranteed and don't we brag that we can vote in confidence and no one would know for whom we vote?
<and how votes gets counted is a whole other topic of conversation, see FL & OH>
In regards to privacy and confidentiality of voting, why is the union vs non-union different from electing the Pres of the US or the Pres of the AFL-CIO??
Regards.
- Anonymous : What if the federal employees are being farmed out to other agencies or NGOs? They work for one agency and are hired for that agency to work at the other agency, who's budget and hiring are based on the other agency. Is this a separate contract for the federal employees at the other agency and would they need to organize that agency also?

S.1285 Fair Elections Now Act
- Anonymous : So, why doesn't the House have term limits? Do you have to be already there to get those waived? What are the term limits? Why won't these Congressmen make room for others to serve? If everyone got four years, there would be allot more done and people could serve.

H.R.1955 Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007
- Anonymous : This is just a waste. There is no possible way to prevent terrorism on our soil no matter what precautions we take. If you really want to stop home grown terrorism than you have to leave the civil liberties of the people intact, and leave it to the people to guard against it. Remember people the D.C. snipers appeared to be uncatchable by the authorites. The only reason why they were caught was because the authorities gave the PEOPLE information on what they were looking for, and it was a repairman that spotted the vehicel that the snipers were using to get around in. The authorities only reacted on the information and arrested them. We the people have to be the ones to prevent terrorism not the government. By allowing them to pass this it only opens the door to our civil liberties to be infringed. It will start off as a study then turn into legislation that bases it off of what they find. National wire taps, e-mail screening that ques to certian phrases, and ( yes this is going to sound like a back woods hillbilly ) stricter backround checks on firearm purchases ( maybe restrictions on what calibers, lengths, and types). This bill is absolutely a waste of our time and money to pass.
- dax702 : I oppose this bill, vehemently! And I will be contacting my senators to vote no on it.
