H.R.1009 Industrial Hemp Farming Act of 2007
- eelozano : I can not see a solid reason to not support this legislation.
- Paladinnh : As defined by current regulation outside the US, Industrial Hemp contains 0.3% or less THC. If you tried to "get high" from this crop you would probably spend the rest of your life extracting enough of the drug for it to be worth the effort. The fact that de-regulating low TCH Industrial Hemp is a no brainer only means that there are those who have reason for blocking said de-regulation. If you are asking youself "why is IH regulated" then go out and do some research, you will probibly (I hope) get angry and come to the conclusion that someone has their hand in the back pockets of those who make the rules. "I love America. Born and raised free, and now I'm going to use it." -Paladinnh- 2 More

S.2890 S.2890
- Bellaconstricta : "This bill would establish a summer gas tax holiday, suspending the 18.4 cents per gallon Federal gas tax, and the 24.4 cent diesel tax, between Memorial Day and Labor Day 2008." Personally, I'm all for more than one gas tax holiday. How about one every month or one each season? -1 More

H.R.5842 Medical Marijuana Patient Protection Act
- carigis : I would support this bill.. but the classificaton should be much lower. marijuana should not be the same classification as methamphetamine
- claythrow : I am a 30 year old male who has been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I went from working full time and being a runner/gym junkie to almost totally disabled in a few months. It has been almost 3 years now that I have struggled with this disease. It is all I can manage now to work 2 days per week, and by year end I don't think that even that will be possible. I suffer intense pain every day, there is not a single moment that I am free of it, not even when I am sleeping. It has put a strain on my marriage, and my family, and it's all I can do to just keep on going. One of the most successful and least harmful treatments in the history of this disease is Marijuana. It does not need to be smoked and cause the body any harm, it can be vaporized with virtually no ill effects, just a near perfect medical delivery system. However, the state of Massachusetts would rather have me taking opiates every day than using Marijuana for legitimate medical reasons. To be clear I do not use Marijuana now, nor will I until I could do so without fear of prosecution. I cannot risk any such legal action. I am aware of the laws decriminalizing it in Massachusetts coming up in November, however that is not enough. We need medical professionals and patients to have access to such relief, without any legal repercussions. Saying that I can posess up to one ounce and only get a fine, yet still face felony charges for purchasing or growing said material is an invitation for legal problems at best. Even when that passes I still will not purchase marijuana to treat my condition. The opiates that I now take give me nausea, constipation, I continue to need higher doses, they are expensive, addictive, only partially effective and just make me sick, and this is what Federal Government deems as a better medical alternative? I have a choice to make every day...do I want to be in pain, or be sick? That is the life I wake up to... every day. I have a beautiful wife, a loving family and I cannot fully enjoy either. I remember being healthy, and perhaps that is what makes my stuggle to survive each day mentally painful as well. You have no idea what it is like to have to sit on the sidelines in the game of life because "playing" hurts to much, I didn't either. Here is a drug virtually free of uncomfortable side effects, effective pain relief for fibro (search the internet, tons of info as to why these two mate well), and could theoretically be cultivated by me discreetly, for little money yet there stands the Government. Laws such as this have already been enacted in many states, and they have served their purpose with very minimal abuse. Considering the amount of money I give the state of Massachusetts and the Federal Government each tax year, and the quality of life I have to endure, I think it only fair that people like me have access to a certain level of comfort. I would expect that laws for abuse would still be in place, but you will find that anyone who is in my situation would not jeapordize such a cure with any sort of negligence, and this has been proven in other states. Please enact Medical Marijuana laws. There are thousands of us who just want to wake up with the choice of being in pain, or being comfortable. Wanting access to medical solutions to that we can rejoin human race is not an unreasonable request, and we ask you to help us. 2 More

- carigis : I support this on many levels..1 being simple possession of small amounts of marijuana are not and should not be a federal priority and enforcement choices should be left up to each state on possession. same with large amounts amounts stored at locally approved medical marijuana dispensary's.. this eliminates half the problem. unfortunately it will never leave committee.
- Anonymous : We will have to pay the piper to see weed legalized. That means that we will put money in the gov't coffers. Will you pay for a license or a stamp? Encourage others to write the lawmakers in their states as well as others. No, it doesn't help our cause when some of you out there insist on being ignorant or loudly pronounce your stupidity. Most responsible smokers have decent jobs and stable homes. It's the society losers that give us a bad name. The less educated, welfare assisted and non-educated. 27 More

- americausa : BUSH wants to bail out Wall street but the unemployed can just wait and starve! The Congress, the Senate and BUSH are criminal, despicable, naive, and in very dangerous water. To ignore the unemployed and not take care of them is so shortsighted its beyond belief. More Extended benefits need to be passed now! The seven weeks is really a joke as unemployment WILL continue to rise and rise. It needs to be a total of 52 or more as it was in the past. Wake up politician's (PUBLIC SERVANT) as your day is coming, and you be joining the unemployed and learn first hand what it can feel like to be jobless. More jobs will be lost, more Banks will fail and you can only blame yourselves for letting Bush and Cheney get away with robbing the working American public who are as dumb and naive as Sarah Palin!
- americausa : I have been out of work since November 2007. My unemployment benefits have run out. My money has run out. I unable to obtain employment and need more time to continue my search for employment. I am at risk of losing my car. Gas prices continue to rise daily. I am highly skilled in my field. My State Rhode Island is one of the hardest hit with unemployment. I am 53 old and have worked hard all my life. I've paid taxes all my life, and this is how my country is treating me. Unbelievable. The Senate, House and President continue to play games as peoples life's are put in jeopardy. Totally disgusting. So all the extra time that I am not spending on looking for employment, I will dedicate to making sure any politician that votes nay on not extending unemployment insurance will be out of a job their next term by informing the public of their decision in every forum available. I will encourage others to do so as well. It is time in this country for the people to take control of their government again and take it out of the hands of the uninformed, out of touch, uncompassionate, ignorant, greedy, self absorbed fools that are the true terrorists ruining this country. Pass a fxxkxxg bill extending unemployment benefits or you will be out of a fxxkxxg job!!!!!!!!! 5 More

- lerichards : To whom it may concern: I will not weary you in a lot of vague ideas and experiences, for they will offer nothing to give action toward your investigating the area of my concern. My concern is coming from above, namely Space Satellites. The Federal Government has placed in space, for National Security reasons Space Stations to observe areas of our great country, thinking that our enemies may attack us. Of course, some individuals within the Government, citizens too, believe any and all means are necessary to protect and defend the citizens of this Great Nation, and I agree. The thing is, these Satellites can and are being used for seeking out and disrupting citizens from their normal everyday activities. Satellite technology doing harm to citizens is a dastardly thing within any country when their technology becomes the controlling factor to those citizens living “the pursuit of happiness” dream. For me to comprehend its existence, Satellite Technology and its usage is as mysterious as its ramifications on my life. The continuous effect of The Satellite Program has advanced my interest; otherwise, I would have never become involved. The effects of Satellite bombardment are unbroken in any and all my endeavors. The Satellite program has totally surrounded me, controlling me, consequentially forging me outside my normal existence. It is difficult to describe the effects and harm the U S Government is doing to my body. My toenail has a tear; toes are discolored, small reddest mark on different part of my body. Laser is being used more of late, due to it’s effectiveness in penetrating my surround barriers. There is no end to the torturing I’m suffering. To say the least, I need something done, an immediately. I’m hoping you may help me in this distressing matter. As I understand, nearly a year of constant surveillance and harmful penetration, satellites are operated by using a ground coordinator. A person who physically monitors, making contact with me, following me by vehicle or coming close to my approxime while in stores, etc. The spying while in my home is done with equipment in neighboring homes, surveillance of my every move 24 hours a day.
