I fail to understand what this bill will accomplish. If this bill passes, it will amend the constitution to declare marriage between an man and a woman. Then what? Do gay people suddenly disappear? Will they stop yelling about "equal rights"? Will they just "accept the laws"? No. Passing this bill will not make anyone happy. This is a waste of time. In all the debate of "gay marriage", I have yet to hear the argument against gay marriage that does not have religious connotations. Church and State are separate, and we should not be passing legislation in the name of any religion.

This is absurd. State Hypocrisy Reform? We need Federal Hypocrisy Reform before we start on the states. But honestly, you're going to tell a state like Hawaii or Rhode Island that if you don't allow us to build an oil refinery, we're not going to allow you to use gas that isn't produced in your state? Does Rep. Gohmert not see the problem with that? Does this work the other way, too? If California starts to produce an overabundance of solar energy.. enough to power states around it, can they say "tell ya what.. when you start producing solar power, I'll share.."
