- ericj : Why would anybody, congressperson or public, *not* want this to pass? How many contracts do you personally sign that you don't read through first? Even worse when it's not a personal contract, but a law that will take effect and be enforceable over the whole of the United States population. It's sad this resolution even needed to be stated and formalized.

- bsctov : Bills like this show the ignorance and pure disregard for American law that today's Democrats exhibit. A bill should be introduced to make it treason to introduce a bill like this. Simply disgusting. Rep. Carolyn McCarthy [D, NY-4] is not an American in any sense on the word.

H.R.1424 - Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008
- Jmech : I have to agree with the above. I was reading part of it and it confused me how many of the items would relate to the origional purpose of the bill???
- Anonymous : Amazing that our Representatives voted in favor of this Bill despite constituents arguing against it 100 to 1. Their added "goodies" have tacked on billions of dollars in debt that we and our children will be paying off for generations to come. Most surprising is the "Mental Health" parity, one of the many things that has nothing to do with the economic situation with which we are faced. The FDA slapping black label warnings on bottles faster than you can swallow a pill, and commercials tote "side" effects such as death, coma and seizures (to name of few) I can't help but wonder if those who voted in favor of this atrocity aren't the ones who have mental problems.

- IntelligentlyConservative : I agree whole-heartedly that there should be term limits imposed (on both houses), but I'm not sure just how short of a run it should be. I think 3 or 4 terms would be good. One huge hurdle to that is the life-time healthcare coverage, and other life-time benefits of being a Congressman, even for only 1 term. Getting them to vote for revocation of these perks, AND limiting themselves to a certain # of terms will probably prove to be impossible.

- dlramsey69 : Mister Senator, I have one question for you. The H.R.45 - Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009. What are your thoughts on this bill? Will be become as the citizens of Australia, China, Malaysia, and other countries? Will we not have the right to defend our self without having to submit to the government saying if we can or cannot have a gun and then be taxed on each gun. This bill only puts more illegal guns out on the street and puts the law abiding citizens in more danger as that we would not be able to have protection of our home and property. I've been struggling all my life to keep my head above water financially and for the most part have done ok, but right now I'm working a part-time job. I've been watching manufacturing jobs bleed out of the U.S. since I graduated high school in 1977; I'm about tired of it. The Chinese flag flying over the White House? I don't think so. This is not a diplomatic visit, and if it were, I wouldn't care anyway. All you senators and representatives in Washington, while we were all working our butts off and conducting our everyday lives, trusting that you were looking out for us, sold us out to the highest bidder (the lowest, actually). We might as well be flying the Chinese flag all the time and learning to speak Mandarin. China owns us! Bring our manufacturing and other jobs back!

- WJAuen74 : I come from Murtha's district and I am in complete amazement the majority of the people that continue to vote for him. Anytime his seat is challenged, I vote against him. He does not deserve to be in government office. He has no respect for the people who blindly re-elect him. I think the reason he keeps his office is because the people are scared. He has brought a lot of government contracted jobs into this area because of his position. I believe that people are afraid that if they vote him out that they in turn will be voting out the chance to bring more jobs into the area. However, this is a very poor excuse to continually keep him in office. He is a disgrace to the office he holds.2010 will not get here soon enough but I fear the outcome will be the same regardless.

Ratherthan simply put this to rest by sending the information requested, I understand Mr. Obama and others named in lawsuits around the country have hired several powerful law firms requesting dismissal and to seal access to all of Mr. Obama's records(vault copy of BC, college records, immigration records, medical records, ect.). I bet that costs lots money. Why not spend a few bucks and just provide the information? Would that clear the matter up amnd build trust in everyone. Even government employees and elected office members could be under surveillance and done harm, without them even knowing it. Individuals can be located and monitored, in the home, driving a car, even grocery shopping; and, unless the individual becomes concealed and/or are no longer identified, they can be harmed by the U S Government Satellites Program.
