I believe it is very important to move on this Bill in a positive manor. The amendments introduced will help bring about clarification and will greatly speed up the process for the retired Law Enforcement Officer to meet the qualifications mandated for conceal weapons carry. I all so feel the present requirement of 15 years should be reduced to the proposed 10 years. If a Law Enforcement Officer retires early in good standing and receives a retirement form the agency he/she was employed with then they should be eligible to qualify and upon successfully meeting the qualifications be granted the concealed weapons permit. Most early retirees continue to work in the areas of security or other related investigative careers. These are always the kind of people who step up to help Law Enforcement and citizen who are in need of assistance. Thank you for your time and consideration.
